To start, we’ve heard and seen plenty about the 2.3 Gingerbread update for the DROID 2 Global and after more than a few soak tests and trial updates from as far back as June, today it’s officially rolling out again and should be smooth and ready to rock.</div>

Verizon started the rollout back in September but users experienced a slew of issues and problems and the update was quickly pulled. It has has received a full overhaul and hopefully things will be smoother and easier this time around. The updated info was leaked earlier this month but we now have full details below.</div>

Just like all the recent Motorola 2.3 Gingerbread updates we have a refreshed UI and everything that comes along with Gingerbread. Such as a new user interface, download manager, improved copy/paste, browser stability and speed enhancements and more. Specific to Motorola they’ve fixed some stability and reboot problems, bluetooth connection issues and a slew of small bugs that were affecting some users of the Droid 2 Global. Users should see increased stability and speed, improved battery life and a few pre-loaded new applications such as Google Books, Amazon MP3, Blockbuster, Flash 10.2 and a few others.</div>

Recently Amazon gave us some good views but these shots are hands-on images. Now we get to see what some of you may actually be buying in another month or so.</div>

These new photos you can see the hump on the rear starts much sooner than the Droid X and rather than be a steep incline this is more gradual and smooth. I like the design change and think it will feel better in the hands with this style versus the last. They had to make room for a fat battery, that 8MP camera as well as 4G LTE so we wont complain about the hump too much.</div>

We heard that CyanogenMod 7 nightlies for the Samsung Galaxy S II were coming soon earlier on this week, and as of Thursday, it has been available on the download mirrors! Those itching to have their own Galaxy S II shouldn’t have to wait too much longer, as it may head to the US in August. Yet another rather new device receiving it’s own customized ROM is the Motorola Droid X2. It’s titled MinX ROM Beta, and improvements include removed bloatware and performance enhancements. We should see some new ROMs very soon for the HTC Sensation as it recently acquired S-Off. Hopefully the HTC EVO 3D is up next. Rogers Canada says the HTC EVO 3D bootloader will launch unlocked.</div>

There had been some speculation to whether Google would ever release the Nexus S officially on AT&T. It has now become official; Samsung Nexus S will debut on the AT&T network July 24 (tomorrow). Also hitting the network soon will be the HTC Puccini tablet. It just hit the FCC and will be packing 4G LTE! AT&T is having a “Free for a Year” sweepstakes going on now, so don’t forget to participate for your chance to win!</div>

Chris Burns presented a few nice hands-on video demonstrations of both the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet and Lenovo IdeaPad K1. They look to be an excellent addition to the current Android OS tablets out there. Also reviewed this week was the Motorola Triumph for Virgin Mobile. This will definitely be the best bang for your buck when buying a smartphone off-contract for under $300.</div>

Autodesk launched SketchBook Pro for Android Tablets this week; finally a polished application to put you’re new Android stylus to good use! Another application to hit this week may interest our more scholarly readers; IntelliVocab is an easier way to study for the SAT, GRE, and GMAT on the go. Verizon is expanding their 4G LTE to 28 new locations this week, just in time for the Droid Bionic hitting August 4th. After the Droid Bionic’s release, the Motorola Dinara may be considered Motorola’s next flagship device.</div>

I still see the Droid more than almost any other Android I think. If you have rooted or toyed with your Droid most likely you know the name Peter Alfonso, he is the man that has been keeping the Droid chugging along for a while. With stock rooted Android 2.3 builds as well as all the different kernels you could ever imagine.</p><br/><br/><br/><span> </span><br/><br/>Just released over at PeterAlfonso.com is his newest list of Droid Kernels. It has been over 2 months since he has released a kernel for the OG Droid so I’m sure there are a few users that have been patiently waiting. He explains everything and what they all mean very neatly for everyone to understand.<br/><br/>You can push the limits and overclock like crazy or run a stock speed undervolted kernel to get great battery life, he covers them all. You can look through all of his work and find what you need but as always be careful and know what you are doing. Flashing kernels, roms or doing any heavy overclocking can lead to a dead phone if not done right so use caution, but you knew that already right?

Motorola Droid 3 Accessory List, Extended Battery and Inductive Charging Included

<p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" class="aligncenter" height="164" src="http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/6039/droid3accessories600x30.png" width="324" />The Motorola Droid 3 is no secret and we’ve known it was coming for a while. With leaked photos and even shown on Verizon roadmaps. Now we are seeing an entire accessory list for the upcoming successor to the original DROID series.</p><br/>Even looking at the top of the leaked image and not the accessory list it looks as if the Droid 3 will come with a 32GB MicroSD card included just like a few other Verizon phones of late so that is nice. On to that accessory list we see all sorts of goodies, from an extended battery over 1900 mAh to inductive charging and more, although you might want to get the HDMI cable somewhere else for cheap.<br/><br/>Motorola has been good in the past to release accessories like car docks and multimedia docks quickly along with their phones and the Droid 3 looks to be the same as I see a few of those listed as well. I wish all carriers did the same because I’d love a nice dock for a few of my Android phones sitting around. We should be hearing something official about the Droid 3 any time now and I’ve heard rumors of a July 14th release date so stay tuned for more.
