Rubin has been around the tech world in a big way and is famous as the founder of Danger and then as the dude that is responsible for Android. It took a long time for this to surface, but apparently, back in 2008 Rubin shared the wealth when he got his first big bonus check from Google.</div>

The 2008 bonus was given to Rubin when Android shipped and Rubin turned around and shared the loot with the workers that helped him bring Android to market. At the time, there were 100 or so workers on the team. According to the WSJ, each of the workers received between $10,000 and $50,000 directly out of Rubin’s own pocket.</div>

That is a dude that takes care of his employees. Rubin is also known to throw two parties a year for his workers at his home in Mountain View. The best bonus I ever got from an employer was a free turkey. I should have worked for Rubin.</div>

Lodsys filed suit earlier this year against a number of third-party App Store developers, claiming that it owned patents covering a number of functions used by Apple's app marketplace, and that by using that store, these third-party devs were in violation of these patents. Apple, however, came out swinging a little while back, throwing a blistering letter down in the lawsuit, essentially calling Lodsys' claims nonsense. And now Atari, EA, and a number of other iOS developers named in the lawsuit have thrown their support behind Apple's argument, officially filing motions to support Apple's position outlined in that letter.</div>

The motions also ask that Apple be allowed into the lawsuit as an intervenor and not just a third-party, so that it can properly review and make an actual response to everything filed by Lodsys. Lodsys has been accused of making an end-run around Apple to the smaller developers in this case, and trying to go after companies that might not be able to afford a fight, but passing this motion would pit Lodsys straight up against Apple and all of its resources rather than just the developers themselves.</div>

One notable exception from the companies already fighting the case: Google. Lodsys reportedly also targeted Android developers, but so far Google hasn't stepped up in the same way that Apple has. We'll have to see if the folks in Mountain View are willing to join the fight as well.</div>

After making its beta debut last year, Office 365 is officially ready to spread its wings and offer its productivity web app wares to the business-minded masses. For $6 per-user, per-month small businesses get access to Microsoft Office Web Apps, Exchange, SharePoint and Lync video conferencing and can take advantage of the suite's integration with WP7 once Mango lands. Larger, enterprise plans start at $10 per user while adding support for desktop Office products and Lync VoIP solutions as you climb the pricing ladder. <br/><p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" class="aligncenter" height="117" src="http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/9189/googleplusproject.jpg" width="279" /></p><br/><br/><br/>You may have heard about Google+, the hot new sharing product from Google that went official today, and it sounds cool (<em>sounds</em> cool, but remember how cool Wave and Buzz sounded? Let's just say we're reserving excitement so far). But one exciting thing about the new project is how cool and smooth it looks, and TechCrunch has noted the reason for that look, based on Steven Levy's reporting: it's designed in part by Andy Hertzfeld, one of the members of the original Macintosh team back in the 1980s.<br/><br/>Hertzfeld now works for Google, and supposedly he was let free to exercise his creative influence as he liked on the new Google+ system, creating something for the folks in Mountain View that looks like it might have come from the early days of the Cupertino company.<br/><br/>Hertzfeld even credits some of his influence at Google to Apple's own resurgence lately, saying that Apple's sky-high relevance in the tech and mobile industry may have "had a little bit to do" with his chance to help create Google+.<br/><br/>In other words, when you finally get one of those invites that are starting to float around, and finally log in to the system to see what it is and what it's like, take note of any Macintosh-related influences you might see. Odds are, they're Mr. Hertzfeld's work.
