Open the Start menu by clicking "Start" in the bottom-left portion of the desktop. Access the "All Programs" section of the Start menu, and click "Accessories." Click the "Run" icon to open the utility. In the space provided, type "Regedit," and click "OK." The Registry Editor will open in a new window.
Click the folder entitled "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE." Select the "SOFTWARE" sub-folder, and then click the "Microsoft" folder. In that folder, choose the "Windows" folder, and then select the "CurrentVersion" sub-folder. Finally, click the "Uninstall" folder. Within that folder is a set of folders for each application that's listed in the Add/Remove Programs utility.
Navigate through each sub-folder until you locate the application that needs its uninstall entry removed. When you've found the correct folder, click on the entry entitled "DisplayName," located in the right side of the utility.
Right-click on "DisplayName." Select "Delete" from the list of displayed options. Exit the Registry Editor and any other open widows. You can verify that this method was successful by opening the Add/Remove Programs tool. The unwanted program entry will no longer be visible.
