The new versions of Skype 5.5 and Skype 5.6 now no longer offer any third party tools or offers from one of Microsoft’s biggest rivals, Google. An understandable move, but let’s hope this doesn’t mean that Microsoft will bundle its own tools or offers with Skype in the future. Nobody loves bloatware.</div> <div style="color: #444444; font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 24px;"> Fortunately the removal of third party products wasn’t the only improvement to Skype. The update also plugs a memory leak for Skype’s Firefox plugin, as well as fixes an issue that causes the app to crash when running on Windows 8 Developer’s Preview.
