Such is the case with Razer's Chimaera, an Xbox 360-centric wireless gaming headset that was initially teased at CES 2010, and just started shipping to end users early this year. The company's been in the gaming headset business for some time now -- if you'll recall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with the (wired) Carcharias headset right around two years back. This 2.1 system promises to give Xbox Live yappers exactly what they've been waiting for, but is it really worth the $129.99 entry fee? Head on past the break for our take. If a product doesn't change for two years, it's got to be doing something right, and such was the tale about Razer's Destructor gaming surface. Alas, all good things must come to an end-of-life, if only to encourage people to buy the new hotness, which in this case is the shiny new Scarab. It's a hard gaming mousepad doused in Razer's Fractal 2.0 coating, ensuring uniform responsiveness and the right balance between speed and control.

Razer Nostromo gaming keypad announced

The keypad has been co-produced by Belkin and is an update of the <a href="http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/peripherals/input-devices/joysticks-and-gamepads/belkin-n52te-461958/review">n52te Speedpad</A>. There are a number of improvements that have been made and these include: the ability to switch instantly between eight keymaps (up from three), and the flexibility of storing up to twenty gaming profiles from the previous limit of ten. Chip change There is also a new onboard chipset and software driver that enables gamers to program macros of unlimited length. The all-new configurator software for the Razer Nostromo has an enhanced UI, which allows gamers to customise all the buttons with any game command to open up numerous commands and combinations. "A few years ago we had the privilege of working with Belkin to co-develop the highly successful Belkin n52te Speedpad," explained Robert Krakoff, President, Razer. "The Razer Nostromo is an update to this illustrious gaming keypad to meet today's competitive gaming demands. "Building on the Speedpad's proven ergonomic design, the Razer Nostromo incorporates the latest gaming technologies that Razer has developed over the past few years." The Razer Nostromo is available now and is priced at €69.99, which is around £60.
