Wow, just when we thought Flash was being shunned by everyone in favor of HTML5, it looks like a lot of companies still have faith in it. Earlier today at the Adobe Max event, Epic Games’ Tim Sweeny announced that the Unreal Engine could run in Flash. To prove his point, he showed off a demonstration of Unreal Tournament 3 running in a web browser using Flash. In Sweeny’s words: “It turned out to look even better than the version we shipped on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with improvements like global illumination, better shadows, and god rays!”</div>

While it’s not arriving on mobile devices anytime that support Flash anytime soon, running the Unreal Engine in a web browser is a pretty impressive feat on its own. Upstreaming the Android port of WebKit has for a while been a goal of the folks working on the project at Google, and what they’ve got to report today is that they will be removing the existing incomplete Android port and replacing this with an effort that includes a webkit.org build bot compiling Chromium’s DRT for Android using the Android NDK, SDK, and toolchain.</div>

What all of this means is that by bringing the Android web browser code into the Chromium project and therefor making it open source, WebKit developers no longer have to work with two totally different systems. As the Android version of stock web browsing and Chrome web browsing become more and more similar, we can (hopefully) expect a much more optimized experience overall. At the moment, as you may already be aware, Firefox generally turns up better browsing speeds than Webkit, though should “Chrome” come to Android, we may have different results popping up.</div>

Apple has enabled beta testing of Find My Mac to registered OS X developers, according to MacRumors. Just like Find My iPhone, Find My Mac allows users to locate their Macs from any web browser or iOS device. When found, you can choose to play a sound or send a message on the Mac; you can also remote lock or remote wipe the Mac. However, remote locking and wiping will prevent you from locating the Mac again.</div>
