Many tablets are already powerful yet super thin like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the upcoming Toshiba Excite but these guys look to beat them all with this latest release. Measuring in at just 7.4mm thick for the thinnest model and 8.1mm for the larger quad-core version, yes I said quad-core — Details below.</div>

We are still fishing through the details but back in May we mentioned the ZiiLabs quad-core processor and now it appears it might soon be hitting the market. ZiiLabs offers the processor and reference designs for other OEM’s to build on and bring to market their own Android Honeycomb tablets. At an investor conference today, GameStop said flat out that it is "becoming a technology company," and that it does indeed plan to introduce a cloud-based gaming service similar to OnLive as a result of the Spawn Labs acquisition, while Impulse will be used to "compete fiercely" with Steam. But that's just the start of things. According to the Dallas Morning News, GameStop also plans to expand the gaming service to a variety of mobile devices, and it's apparently even entertaining the idea of a GameStop-branded tablet, saying that "if we feel like we could do a better job of making a tablet, we'll do that." On a blog, the <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/help/insideguardian/2010/dec/02/apps-iphone">Guardian explains</A>: "The new app will have a new price point: £2.99 for six months and £3.99 for 12 months." This type of subscription-based app is not something that's currentlyavailable on the App Store, so it seems that it has outed a feature which will be an update to Apple iOS 4.3. Considering <a href="http://www.techradar.com/news/computing/apple/hands-on-ios-4-2-review-910375">iOS 4.2</A> was only just released this month, the next iteration of iOS will probably be a rather minor update. IOS4.3 imminent? The Guardian says that this change will happen globally pre-Christmas so it seems that the UK release date of Apple iOS 4.3 is imminent. It has also announced that an iPad app is in development, saying: "We're still working through the final features but, as always, we're aiming high and hoping to steal a march on the current news-oriented iPad <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/apps">apps</A> already available. "We'll reveal more details about this soon."

A mysterious Nokia handset - X7-00 was spotted testing EA's Need for Speed Mobile at a Czech forum board - Modryzub.net (registration required). Yet another angular design-bearing handset X7-00 draws design looks from Nokia N8 and E7 collectively. However, the four speakers at four corners of the front panel makes it stand out and seem to be entertainment-centric handset. Following the images of X7-00 handset, the video of the same running the Need for Speed game also cropped up. Slash Gear noted that the polished metal body bearing X7-00 carried 4-inch display with 360x640 pixel resolution. The camera on its hind had 8-megapixel image sensor with dual-LED Flash. Expect some eye dazzling quality there.  The Nokia X7-00 is said to have 245MB RAM and 450MB On-board memory. There'll be a 3.5mm audio port on the top edge, micro-USB port, fixed battery and the four speakers are claimed to be pretty loud. Check out the video of X7-00 running Need for Speed grabbed by MobileBulgaria.

Perhaps the most interesting news is that the preview device tested out was not running Android Gingerbread OS, instead running Android 2.1, with Sony Ericsson looking to launch the device with Android 2.2 early in 2011. The Anzu/Xperia X12 will probably get an Android Gingerbread (2.3) in a later update, post-launch. High-def video phone The Anzu features a large 4.3-inch LCD display with 854 x 480 resolution, an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor (the same that is found in the HTC Desire Z) and a 12 megapixel camera. The camera will also be capable of recording 720p video. Initial reports indicate that the Qualcomm chipset offers a nippy, lag-free Android experience, encoding 720p video in H264 smoothly and offering users increased playback times for audio and video. Samsung's Galaxy S has sold well for the company and the company will be keen to build on that success. A <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/11/exclusive-samsung-flagship-phone-with-gingerbread-and-huge-di/">slide discovered by Engadget</A> has pointed to the arrival of a next generation phone that brings some pretty impressive specifications – inevitably including the company's well-received super AMOLED screen technology. WVGA That WVGA screen is a either a whopping 4.3 or even larger 4.5 inches (the slide gives both sizes in different sections) and the inclusion of an 8MP camera, Full HD playback and a super-speedy 1.2GHz processor will have phone aficionados licking their lips. Other details include 16GB of internal memory, the latest Wi-Fi and an 'ultra sleek design', with Android Gingerbread as the OS. The slide does have some rather strange inclusions – including a picture of a VoIP handset from Apiotek – which inevitably cast some doubts on the entire rumour. But, specs wise, this would appear to be a relatively believable next generation handset from Samsung; large screened, faster and sleeker, as it looks to establish itself as the home of great Android phones.
