What Is Apple Sync Notifier?

Apple Synchronization Notifier, or applesyncnotifier.exe, is part of the MobileMe software. MobileMe software is synchronization software available for purchase from Apple; however, applesyncnotifier.exe is automatically installed when you install or upgrade to iTunes 7.7 or later, free of charge.

Apple Sync Notifier allows Apple products, such as iPhone and iPod Touch devices, to have information like emails and calendars synchronized across all the devices you use. Emails and calendars are loaded on central Apple servers. Information is then pushed simultaneously to your devices. If you receive an email in Outlook, that email is picked up on MobileMe servers and then pushed to your home desktop, laptop, work PC, iPhone or any Apple device you use. That way, your iPhone does not need to be connected to your computer for Outlook to sync with your phone.
