Press the "Print Screen" key. The button may also be labeled "Prt Scn" or "Print Scr." You might need to press the "FN" or "Ctrl" button in conjunction with the "Print Screen" button, especially on a laptop.
Click on the Start menu. Type "Paint" into the "Search" box. Press "Enter" to open Microsoft Paint.
Click "Home" on the top menu ribbon. Click on "Paste."
Click the File menu, which is directly above the "Paste" icon, and choose "Save" from the list. Name the file and choose a format. Select a folder to save the screen shot in and click "Save."
