Fujifilm has announced that it will release a mirrorless system camera into the market in Spring 2012, but declined to reveal any further specs.</div>

Speaking at a press conference in Tokyo, president and chief executive officer of Fujifilm Shigetaka Komori revealed that the company would launch the new camera next year, stating, "The clear objective is the development of lenses, sensor and processor technology to achieve the highest image quality."</div>

The company declined to offer any detailed comments on technical specifications or the price of the new camera, saying only that all will be revealed shortly before the camera is launched.</div>

The news comes after reports earlier in the year that Fuji would be launching new cameras by the autumn. We've already seen the X10, launched back in August, but we've heard nothing about a mirrorless system until now.</div>

Earlier reports suggested that a Micro Four Thirds sensor would be likely, along with a new range of Fujinon lenses. This would have put the new camera in the same range as the Olympus PEN and Panasonic G series cameras, meaning that lenses could potentially be interchangeable between all three systems.</div>

Speaking to Reuters earlier in the year, Fujifilm stated that they were looking to become the third biggest camera manufacturer in the world, hoping that a re-emergence in the interchangeable lens market would help them achieve this.</div>

A spokesperson for Fuji confirmed to TechRadar that an "interchangeable mirrorless system camera" was in development, but could not give any clearer details. Interestingly, Fujifilm is not using the term "compact system", perhaps hinting at a larger camera, with a larger sensor inside.</div>

Before we go any further, let’s have a look at our hands-on with this device as it stood when we pulled it out of the box a couple weeks ago. This device is part of a sort of suite of Android devices made by Samsung for T-Mobile to carry as mid-range smartphones, entry-level Android for the masses. Here’s the unboxing:</div>

Hardware</h4>

This device is out in stores right this very minute and is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a 1GHz Hummingbird processor. It’s got a 3.5-inch display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, and it’s got a VGA front-facing camera on the front and 3-megapixel camera on the back. It’s connected with T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network (4G) and comes with a 4GB microSD card with a slot upgradable to 32GB. Inside you’ll find a 1500mAh battery and 512MB RAM and 1GB of ROM.</div>

The device is light, but not too light for its size, plastic all around including a full-back plastic battery cover, a plastic cover for the microUSB, and shiny chrome plastic all around the edge. The bottom of the device bends downward and away from your face where the Nexus S bends up – as if to say, I’m not a Nexus S, and I don’t intend to be. This device doesn’t feel cheap, but it certainly doesn’t feel like it’s worth $300 like most top-tier phones do. The build is nice, but it’s certainly reflective of the price you’ve payed for it.</div>

I’d still choose the LG Optimus V or Optimus U or whichever other letter one would choose depending on the carrier if we’re just basing this decision on the build quality, as I’m much more prone to love a soft plastic experience, but for those who want only a single physical button for home and three others for the rest of your Android actions, this is your device. Additionally, if you’re using a Samsung device that’s running some sort of basic phone operating system and want to upgrade to an Android device, you may enjoy the similar build quality here in the Exhibit.</div>

Software and Performance</h4>

This device is running a relatively new Samsung TouchWiz, one you’ll recognize if you’ve ever played with a Samsung Android in the past but not the newest version certainly – made to welcome both those new to smartphones and those who’ve used Apple’s iOS in the past. That said, if you’re moving away from an iPhone, this probably isn’t your best bet – go for the Galaxy S II if you want a Samsung device after that Apple flagship.</div>

This device, despite it not having the most top-tier display in the world, does have a zippy processor at 1GHz single-core. You’ll be able to play basically any application you download from the app market (unless its specifically made for a certain processor or needs dual-core power, of course,) and you wont be dissapolinted by the speed in any way if you’re just moving to smartphones with this device from your years and years of feature phone oppression.</div>

This device doesn’t take any crap from the rest of the top-tier phones of years past, too, if you believe the benchmarks. The Exhibit 4G regularly gets around 1000 in Quadrant Advanced, that beating out the Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy S original, and hitting right behind the Motorola Droid X. You’ll be whipping your finger back and forth along some sweet games all day long with that kind of action. This device includes several fun games right out of the box including Bejeweled 2, Doodle Jump, and Scrabble. This device also runs Swype for your keyboard and Slacker Radio for your ears.</div>

Camera and Battery</h4>

The battery is right up in the regular range at 1500 mAh giving you somewhere around 10 hours on a single charge with medium use throughout the day. This device doesn’t demand a whole lot of the battery so such a thing is to be expected. As for the camera, well, judge for yourself. It’s just as nice as the other two cameras we’ve seen come out of Samsung on these mid-range devices, and as we tested them all essentially in the same place, you’ve got an easy comparison to do:</div>

This again is one of three Samsung devices now available on T-Mobile in the same range of functionality and, more than likely, price. There’s the Samsung Gravity Smart which is a slide-out QWERTY keyboard toting puck-shaped device, the Samsung Dart which is even more puck-shaped than the Gravity and holds the world record for simplest most basic Android device on earth, then this, the Samsung Exhibit 4G. These devices come up to contend against the LG Optimus mid-ranged line such as the LG Optimus U and the LG Optimus V, then soon against the HTC Wildfire S, a device announced for T-Mobile just this week.</div>

The mid-range is rising! It’s not necessarily the greatest place to be, certainly a stepping stone for most people into the world of NICE Android devices, but perhaps a necessary transition point indeed. The Samsung Exhibit 4G is the nicest device of the three Samsung handsets we’ve seen here over the past couple of weeks. It’s got a nice shape, the camera is OK, you can run quite a few apps on it, and it’s running on T-Mobile’s 4G network. Use this, then upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy S 4G. You’ll be glad you did.</div>

And you were most likely discussing a security system, monitoring, watchdogs, firearms and cameras.</p><p>With the explosion of the personal computer, and the internet's ease of access to information, security has now taken on additional roles. With over 605 million people online at any given moment worldwide, criminals are no longer bound by geographic location. Today's cyber criminal can hack from the comfort of his home just by getting online.</p><p>There are software programs that do nothing but scan the internet for un-secure ports and open networks so that they can enter into those unprotected machines to access critical information. There are many users who know little about internet security and rely on their ISP to provide it for them.</p><p>To look deeper into this topic, let's examine the qualities that make security both similar and different. With your home, you have a physical area that you can protect with fire and motion sensors, cameras, glass-break detectors and decals strategically placed to deter would-be thieves. For your computer, you protect a virtual space usually containing sensitive information relevant to your personal finances or key identity theft items such as family names and social security numbers. To protect these resources, one must install software (anti-virus, port scanners, Trojan hunting software, firewalls) as one level of protection. You can also add another layer of security through a hardware firewall of connectivity to and from the internet or network.</p><p>Both home security and computer security have maintenance costs associated with them. Reliable home security will usually consist of a one-time fee to install the hardware in your home, and then an agreement to have 24-hour monitoring service for a given length of time. Computer security will consist of buying the software and then either a monthly or yearly subscription fee to receive the latest information and protection from internet threats.</p><p>One difference between the two are the methods of monitoring. While computer security is only responsive while the computer is active or online, home security monitoring is responsive at all times provided the system is properly armed.</p><p>Another distinction is the method of response. In home security, a human will respond by dispatching police, fire or EMS directly to your home or business site. On a computer, the response is when the software vendor becomes aware of the problem, creates a solution, and has an update available for download.</p><p>With the advances of technology, monthly fees for home security monitoring are reasonable for the service they provide. Be warned: not all monitoring companies have the same capabilities when it comes to quick response. That's one reason why it's a good idea to make sure that any security company you choose has a UL certification. This can be critical as it indicates that the security company has met stringent standards for management system compliance (such as a back up source of power).</p><p>The same methodology should apply for a security software provider. Just because they say they're the best, doesn't mean that they are. Due diligence is the user's responsibility. Your information is too valuable to be taken lightly.</p><p>Both home security and cyber security are similar to having insurance. You have it, but you hope you never need it. And if you do need it, you want a company or vendor that has a history of excellent customer service.</p><p>There are those people who think that having a firearm is all they need for protection. While that may hold true in some form, a firearm won't let you know if someone is trying to enter your home through the back door while you are sleeping and notify you or the authorities. Another common perception is that a watchdog will alert a homeowner to intrusion, but again, man's best friend sleeps 10 to 12 hours a day and can't notify the police.</p><p>There are some computer users who claim that they can detect a virus by the email that is sent with some obvious taglines meant for the user to open and infect the machine.</p><p>Not all viruses are in emails, although that is the most common form. They can also be uploaded to a website, or embedded in Java Applets or Active X controls.</p><p>Trojans, which can log all of the users keystrokes and sites visited, are secretly downloaded in the form of free games or free software, and are undetectable by anti-virus software. This is the preferred method of attack by a hacker on a machine. By not altering the performance of a machine (like a virus or worm does), the user blissfully continues to use their machine to make online purchases, and enter sensitive information, thinking they are secure, while the Trojan secretly records all of the information and will simply send all of the user's information at designated intervals to the hacker.</p><p>Many times a decision about security measures for your home or computer is based on budgetary constraints. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini / Mini Pro</H4><br /><P>The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini should be nothing more than a shrunken version of the <a href="">Xperia X10</A> – but in reality it's a whole new phone that gives Android a complete makeover.</P><br /><P>Oh yes, it's small. Sony Ericsson isn't joking when it says the Xperia X10 Mini is the same size as a credit card. Obviously it's a lot thicker, but the overall size and weight of the super-small Android phone is about equivalent to a packet of Swan matches. Nokia N8</H4><br /><P>If you've been a Nokia fan for years, then you'll have noticed that the Finnish firm hasn't been competing at the sharp end of the game for a while now.</P><br /><P>The likes of the N97 and X6 have both been trumpeted by Nokia over the last year or so, but neither has particularly won critical acclaim, mostly due to a sub-par OS when compared to the whizz-bang-iness of the <a href="">iPhone</A> and Android set, as well as taking a veritable age to start using the latest technology, like capacitive screens and slimmer lines.</P><br /><P>Now, though, the N8 is here, bringing all manner of high end features to a Nokia phone: 12MP camera, HD video recording, reams of internal storage and a high end media player, as well as the new Symbian^3 OS.</P><br /><P><STRONG>Our quick verdict:</STRONG> This is hardware at the sharp end of nearly every category, which is sure to bring a smile to the tech-lovers' heart. It's a phone that polarises opinion though - some people prefer a snazzier user interface, which the Nokia N8 fails to deliver. Samsung Galaxy S</H4><br /><P>The Samsung Galaxy S is the most tech-heavy phone Samsung has ever made, and TechRadar got the chance to give it a good going over.</P><br /><P>The Galaxy S represents a real milestone for both Samsung and Google, as it's the most powerful and feature-rich phone on the market at the moment, edging the <a href="">HTC Desire</A> plus adding the marketing clout of the Korean electronics giant.</P><br /><P>But with Apple stepping up its game with the <a href="">iPhone 4</A>, Android and Samsung need a big hitter to step up and show the world that they can produce a phone that can take on the might of Jobs, so check out the Samsung Galaxy S and make up your own minds.</P><br /><P><STRONG>Our quick verdict:</STRONG> The Samsung Galaxy S is everything that's good about the Wave, but with Android power to back it up. HTC Desire HD</H4><br /><P>We were all waiting for it - the phone to finally usurp the HTC Desire as our best smartphone (and best mobile phone, best Android phone and, well, best gadget) and we thought the Desire HD was going to be it.</P><br /><P>But sadly, it's not quite made it to the summit, and hasn't even managed to negotiate past the iPhone 4.</P><br /><P>Don't get us wrong - this is a fantastic bit of kit, one of the best smartphones around, with a super slick interface, massive screen and overhauled interface that makes us coo with delight every time our finger sashayed across the display.</P><br /><P>But battery life is vapourised with the massive LCD display; at 4.3-inches, you can see why it needs so much power. Apple iPhone 4</H4><br /><P>The iPhone 4 is certainly the most impressive iPhone ever, and a big step up from the <a href="">iPhone 3GS</A>. The flat body is only 9.3 millimetres thick, 24 per cent thinner than the iPhone 3GS at its thickest. It feels great in the hand, and at the keynote Steve Jobs remarked, "Its closest kin is a beautiful old Leica camera." </P><br /><P>By far the most in-your-face improvement is iPhone 4's 960x640 screen. It's got 326 pixels per inch, and <a href="">we're talking tiny pixels</A>, only 78 micrometers wide.</P><br /><P>The Retina display, especially, is hands-down the clearest, most enjoyable screen we've seen on a handheld, and the sheer amount of technology packed into the device is surprising.</P><br /><P>The iPhone 4 would definitely top our list, were it not for the fairly major flaw which sees <a href="">3G reception disappear</A> when you hold the phone with your left hand. It's an embarrassing problem which mars an otherwise brilliant handset.</P><br /><P><STRONG>Our quick verdict:</STRONG> We think people are making a little bit too much of a fuss about the reception issue – a little shift of the hand sorts things out – but on a premium phone it shouldn't be there at all. HTC Desire</H4><br /><P>The HTC Desire is essentially the same phone as the <a href="">Google Nexus One</A>, only with HTC's Sense UI overlay and a reworked chassis. Read: it's like a Nexus One only better.</P><br /><P>The Desire is a little on the large side thanks to its 3.7-inch OLED screen, but HTC has had a look at the few foibles the Nexus One had and sorted them out. Later models have a Super LCD screen which isn't quite as vibrant as the OLED, but is still top notch for media viewing.</P><br /><P>Messaging on the HTC Desire is a dream – despite not having a physical keyboard, the eerily responsive typing correction on this device is so sharp we could practically shut our eyes and mash our hands into the keyboard and still type a perfect message.</P><br /><P>And it's testament to the perfect design that it's held the Desire HD off the top spot; the 3.7-inch screen and smooth frame offer a far nicer feel in the hand, and it even offers slightly better battery life too.</P><br /><P>If the HTC Desire was to get the upgraded Sense UI, complete with extra HTC widgets and downloadable content, it would be virtually unstoppable, especially as the price will hopefully begin to drop in the near future.</P><br /><P><STRONG>Our quick verdict:</STRONG> People will inevitably ask if we really think the Desire is better than the <a href="">iPhone 4</A>, and the truth is it both is and it isn't.
