Earlier in the month we heard the Incredible would not be lucky enough to receive an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread but that was quickly found to be untrue. Someone from support was wrong on that because not only was it indeed getting the update, but it was almost ready to begin rolling out already.</div>

New details are showing the update was again delayed and not available but I have good news for you Incredible owners. It appears the official version being rolled out by Verizon and HTC has been leaked. The exact version listed right on Verizon’s website seen here has now leaked and we have it available for download for those who don’t want to wait.</div>

This looks like the final build right from HTC, it shares the same version number from Verizon’s documentation (4.06.605.2), and the same baseband (2.15.10.07.07) too. This is the full RUU leak so users will be required to wipe their data in order to flash the update. Without much talking, enjoy that Gingerbread you Incredible owners.</div>

<p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" class="aligncenter" height="90" src="http://cdn.mos.techradar.com///Review%20images/What%20Video/WHV%20356/WHV356.freeiplay.xtra-200-200.jpg" width="120" /></p><br/>Web TV is to finally get an audience measurement system, with Barb (the Broadcaster's Audience Research Board) announcing that it will begin monitoring web TV viewing figures.<br/><br/>Barb will initially trial the monitoring in 100 homes in 2011, but this will be rolled out in 2012 to 1,100 homes with this reaching around 2,500 viewers.<br/><br/>"The rollout of the web TV meter demonstrates our long-standing commitment to the development of TV audience measurement," said Bjarne Thelin, Chief Executive of Barb.<br/><br/>"We will continually consider and verify the web TV measurement technique so that we can confirm the appropriateness of this approach for Barb.<br/><br/>"Following this initial stage we'll evaluate the value of proceeding further and with the industry we will assess how this data can best be utilised and applied."<br/><br/><strong>Learning over time</strong><br/><br/>Barb has already been trialling its measurement software in 75 homes and it is hoping that the expansion will help with understanding how users watch web TV content and on what devices.<br/><br/>"The prospect of a measurement which enables web-TV viewing to be examined alongside television set viewing, from a single source, will have a number of applications," said Thelin.<br/><br/>"It's likely that the greatest initial learnings will come from data aggregated over time."

<p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" class="aligncenter" height="90" src="http://cdn.mos.techradar.com//classifications/Mobile%20Phones/iPhone/iphonesecurity-200-200.jpg" width="120" /></p><br/>The Android operating system is less secure than Apple's iOS, according to a new in-depth evaluation conducted by security firm Symantec.<br/><br/>The good news is that both smartphone tribes are more secure than traditional PCs.<br/><br/>The bad news is that neither of is really that secure anyway, with Symantec seeming to conclude that businesses would be wise to keep their data off smartphones altogether.<br/><br/><strong>Data rater</strong><br/><br/>iOS is more robust because Apple's app vetting system is more rigorous, the company found – this means less malware can sneak into your iPhone or iPad via rogue app.<br/><br/>Android, however, is more open and this means more open to attack, including network attacks, nasty malware and misplacing data if the handset is lost or stolen.<br/><br/>Both are also vulnerable when syncing with cloud-based services, which leaves data stored on devices in danger of being compromised.<br/><br/><strong>Mixed bag</strong><br/><br/>Symantec Fellow and chief architect Carey Nachenberg said, "Today's mobile devices are a mixed bag when it comes to security.<br/><br/>"While more secure than traditional PCs, these platforms are still vulnerable to many traditional attacks.<br/><br/>"Moreover, enterprise employees are increasingly using unmanaged, personal devices to access sensitive enterprise resources, and then connecting these devices to 3rd-party services outside of the governance of the enterprise, potentially exposing key assets to attackers."<br/><br/>Obviously this research is talking mainly to the super-paranoid, businesses and super-paranoid businesses – day to day users are probably going to be safe enough, as long as you don't download any dodgy-looking apps.<br/><br/>But with the rise of the mobile wallet and more financial details being stored on our smartphones, handset security is going to become more and more important.
