How to Create an Undocked Laptop Profile

<P>Place your laptop in the docking station and power the docking station on. Watch for your laptop display to be reflected on the external monitor connected to the docking station.</P><P>Log on to your laptop and click the "Start" button. Choose "Control Panel" from the list and double-click the "Performance and Maintenance" group.</P><P>Double-click the "System" icon and go to the "Hardware" tab. Click "Hardware Profiles."</P><P>Go to the "Available hardware profiles" box and choose "Undocked profile" from the list. Click "Copy."</P><P>Type a name for the undocked profile. Click "OK" and then click the "Properties" section of the profile. Check the box next to "This is a portable computer." Click "Always include this profile when Windows starts."</P>
