As we mentioned in our earlier coverage, Siri was initially developed outside Apple at the SRI, and the original Siri app worked just fine on an iPhone 4, although it was never integrated the way it is in iOS 5. It is fair to say that the lack of Siri support on iPhone 4 is probably a way for Apple to differentiate the iPhone 4S from the iPhone 4.</div>

Steven Troughton-Smith has been able to backport Siri from the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 4, and it means that iPhone 4 owners may be able to get Siri, at least for those who are willing to jailbreak (bypass Apple’s app install authorization) their phones.</div>

So, does it work? It apparently does according to that movie and story from 9to5Mac, and the author even says that if it appears sluggish, it’s because there is a missing driver. Until then, we won’t know for sure how fast Siri really is on the iPhone 4. Obviously, the iPhone 4S has more muscles, there’s no question about it, but it would have been really nice if iPhone 4 users had access to Siri. Now, will Apple block it at the server level? Let’s wait and see!</div>

<img src="http://cdn.mos.techradar.com//classifications/home-entertainment/tv/HomeScreen4x3-200-200.jpg"><br /><P>The first screen shots of Virgin Media's brand new 'powered by TiVo' interface have surfaced, with the long-awaited overhaul to the cable giant's UI bringing massive changes.</P><br /><P>The decision to partner up with US PVR maker TiVo was huge news for customers of Virgin Media, with its current user interface showing its age. </P><br /><P>The revamp is based heavily on the latest TiVo interface, boosted hugely by a more graphical look and built around finding content from any source more readily.</P><br /><P><img alt="Virgin media powered by tivo: search tile" src="http://mos.futurenet.com/techradar/classifications/home-entertainment/tv/VirginUI_non4x3/SearchTitlesandActors-420-90.jpg" title="Virgin media powered by tivo: search tile" width="420"></IMG></P><br /><P>The colours, as you would expect, remain Virgin Media red, black and gold, with the TiVo logo present in the background. </P><br /><P>TiVo did have a brief foray into UK territory but found itself pushed out by former-partner Sky and its Sky+ technology. </P><br /><P>There is residual bitterness over this, and the US company will be keen for the Virgin Media tie-up to do well against the latest Sky+ HD boxes. </P><br /><P><img alt="Virgin media powered by tivo: series link" src="http://mos.futurenet.com/techradar/classifications/home-entertainment/tv/VirginUI_non4x3/SeriesLinkRecording-420-90.jpg" width="420"></IMG></P><br /><P>Search will play a major factor in the user interface, and you can rely on the fact that the TiVo 'thumbs up' and 'thumbs down' rating, which not only allows you to set your preferences but also to have the box automatically look for viewing patterns across its user base, will be present. </P><br /><P>The final details on the box are thin on the ground, but expected to arrive in the coming week, with the first boxes set to arrive next month in order to meet the timeframe of a 2010 launch.</P>

Breaking: Apple iOS 4.2 available now

The feature allows you to find your lost device on a map, display a message on its screen, remotely set a passcode lock, and initiate a remote wipe to delete your data. </P><br /><P>AirPlay is another new feature that allows you to stream digital media wirelessly from your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch to your Apple TV and AirPlay-enabled speakers.</P><br /><P>When it comes to the iPad, the introduction of folders means that you can now have a decluttered home screen.</P><br /><P>Multi-tasking also comes to the iPad and you will now be able to print email, photos, web pages, and documents right from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.</P><br /><P>Keep checking iTunes to see when the update lands - as Apple has officially announced that it is here, we expect you will be able to download <a href="http://www.apple.com/ios/">iOS 4.2</A> imminetly.</P>
