Open your web browser and navigate to the Linksys support site to obtain the latest firmware for your device (see Resources.)
Download the firmware file to your desktop.
Right-click the file and click "Extract all" to unzip the firmware upgrade file on your hard drive.
Press the "Windows" key and the "R" key simultaneously to open the run dialogue.
Type "cmd" (without quotes) and press the "Enter" key.
Type "ipconfig /all" (without quotes). Scroll down to "Gateway IP" and type this number into your web browser. This is the address of the router's administration panel.
Enter the username and password you set for your router when prompted.
Click "Administration" and then "Firmware."
Click "Browse" and navigate to the directory on your desktop to which you extracted the firmware upgrade file.
Click "Upgrade" and wait for the firmware reset to be complete. Your device will be restarted and will load with the version of the firmware you sent it.
