Click "Start" on the left side of the Windows task bar and type "regedit" into the Search box. Press "Enter." The Windows Registry Editor opens.
Click on the "arrow" next to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services" in the left pane of the Registry Editor. A list of all the services on your computer will appear in an indented list beneath the "Services" folder. Click on the service you want to change to highlight the service.
Right-click "Start" in the right pane of the Windows Registry Editor and select "Modify."
Type the value data number that corresponds with the change you want to make into the "Value Data" box. For example, if you want to change the service from automatically starting every time you turn on your computer, to being disabled, you would change the value data number from "2" to "4."
