We can expect many of their newer device will most likely receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, otherwise many users will be angry and they don’t want to relive the Desire Gingerbread debacle.</div>

Like mentioned above most devices that are fairly new should receive an update to Ice Cream Sandwich — although a few HTC Thunderbolt users waiting for Gingerbread might have a thing or two to say about that. Today HTC has updated everyone officially on their Facebook page and had this to say:</div>

Since Google unveiled Ice Cream Sandwich earlier this week, HTC has been looking closely at the new OS’s features and functionality to determine our upgrade plans. We’re a recognized industry leader in providing fast and consistent upgrades to our Android devices, and Ice Cream Sandwich will be no different.</div>

We didn’t expect to hear any sort of confirmation on any devices, or where they’re headed with the HTC Sense UI they are widely known for, but most likely we’ll still see it on ICS. With a user interface as gorgeous as Android 4.0 I don’t know why you’d want to skin it up with a different look, but HTC most likely feels different on this front. I have a feeling the Sense UI will need some serious re-working to be compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich so we’ll all just have to wait and see. We will be sure to update when we hear any additional details from HTC.</div>

Obviously this can be speculated when a company as big as HTC is so successful with smartphones but we are getting details that they’ve even been discussing this “internally” according to sources.</div>

We heard rumors last year regarding a similar situation where there was mention of their own OS but that was about it. Now, HTC chairwoman Cher Wang has said a few comments regarding this again according to Focus Taiwan.</div>

Obviously with such huge potential and an ever growing mobile market they are probably open to some sort of purchase. We have heard rumors regarding HP’s Web OS and those are starting to appear more and more recently now that HP has canceled that little project. We have heard reports that HP has no plans to sell Web OS but you never know what the future holds.</div>

HTC has a unique position because they can potentially use any OS they want as they’ve developed and improved their highly popular Sense UI into many different platforms such as Windows Mobile, Android, and now Honeycomb too. HTC’s Sense is a very complex and thought out user interface with many integrations that make it able to stand on its own. With cloud gaming, streaming media with HTC Live, HTC Watch and Onlive they have more to offer than most. Whether they’d leave their current cash crop, Android behind is another story and something I doubt we’ll see for a while if ever.</div>

While HTC doesn’t have a single OS of their own to focus on, their Sense UI is as close to one as any user interface will ever be and have plenty of work regarding that and Android. As long as HTC’s amazing build quality and innovation keeps up with Android I see nothing but good things ahead and I’m sure they do too.</div>

It appears a few users digging around saw some screenshots of HTC Sense UI running on Honeycomb, and it looks just like Sense.</div>

In this first screenshot you can clearly see they’ve removed plenty of the vanilla Honeycomb look and the icons and battery meter are Sense’d out. I personally like the simple yet elegant design of Honeycomb but that’s just me. These changes were not present in the first leaked screenshots of the HTC Puccini so either they’ve recently made some changes or we are still seeing developer builds that are likely to change.</div>

Then just like the HTC Flyer, the Puccini Honeycomb tablet will be having some HTC Scribe features and we can clearly see this on that last screenshot, as well as the changes to the icons again. The first leaks we saw before showed the menu button appearing more like the hardware devices had but these new shots show a more Android Honeycomb design. It appears things are quickly changing over in HTC land but one thing is for sure — these will have a strong HTC Sense UI influence.</div>

Will HTC’s Sense UI make the experience better or worse? Samsung just released the Touch Wiz UX for Honeycomb and so far we are seeing mixed feelings on that upgrade. We will have to see more for a better idea so we will just have to wait for more leaks.</div>
