Hulu Plus arrives in the Android Market, only available for select phones initially

It's been quite a while since Hulu initially announced they'd be bringing Hulu Plus to Android. That wait is now finally over -- for some users that is. In order to make use of Hulu for Android you have to have one of the only six devices that are currently compatible. As noted on the Hulu blog:
With the first phase of the Android rollout, Hulu Plus is available on six phones, including the Nexus One, Nexus S, HTC Inspire 4G, Motorola Droid II, Motorola Droid X, and the Motorola Atrix. We expect to add to the number of Android smartphones and will be making additional device announcements throughout the year.
Limited support starting off with further devices being added later on. Sounds familiar right? Netflix chose this route and truth be told -- that didn't really work so well considering it's up and running on various devices in unauthorized form. If you're looking to get in on Hulu now and have a supported device you can jump on past the break for download. You'll get a free one-week trial and after that it'll be $7.99. Top 10 movies we would hate to see in 3D

Don't get us wrong. We love 3D movies. Yet there are some modern day classics and childhood favourites that we really hope and pray we never have to sit through in 3D. As such, we implore Hollywood not to butcher our celluloid memories and childhood dreams with poorly-executed 2D-to-3D conversions of the following movies. Ever since seeing Bugs 3D! at the London IMAX way back in 2003, as well as the more recent Tinseltown 3D blockbusters such as James Cameron's Avatar and the family-friendly gems coming out of Disney/Pixar such as Up and Toy Story 3, 3D camera and projection technology – when handled correctly – has gradually become an essential component of making and enjoying blockbuster flicks in the last decade. The latest era of 3D has moved so far on since the dreadful anaglyph days of Jaws 3D that it's still amazing when a friend or colleague or family member tells you that they haven't yet seen a modern 3D movie. Still, all that said, these are the top 10 movies that we really hope Hollywood doesn't remaster into 3D. Star Wars C3DPO? No. He wasn't called that. And there was a reason for this. We would urge Mr Lucas not to destroy what made cinema magical for a whole generation by giving the 'holy trilogy' a much-unneeded 3D makeover. We would urge that, if he hadn't already announced that 3D versions of all six films are coming. We'd just as soon kiss a wookiee. Psycho "Norman? Is that you Norman? Did you get that nice new shower-curtain from B&Q?" The Godfather Making a 3D version of the Godfather trilogy would be like re-writing Shakespeare, but in an e-reader friendly format for idiots. Alien Nobody wants to experience the pain of having to see a man give birth to an alien bursting out of his stomach. So why would anybody care to see that in Dolby-surround-sound Technicolor 3D? Umm, actually… Easy Rider An extended five-minute bad trip in 3D you say? No thanks, Mr Hopper! The Wizard of Oz Let's leave our childhood nightmares of the witching hour and flying monkeys firmly in over-saturated 2D Technicolor please… Pleeeeeeeease… Super Size Me Do-gooding documentaries are hard enough to swallow at the best of times, but we really don't need to see a man do a burger sick in a bush in three dimensions. Schindler's List There is no question that Mr Spielberg will be releasing some great movies in 3D in the future, but there are a few from his past that might best be left in 2D, this being at the top of this list, closely followed by ET. Close Encounters of the Third Kind, however… Raging Bull It's not nice to be punched hard in the nose until your beak breaks and blood spatters across your noggin. Particularly by an angry and well-fed Robert De Niro. So let's not make it any more painful than it already looks in glorious 2D black and white arty-vision, eh Marty? Requiem for a Dream See Easy Rider, above. Then times it by a hundred.

Best and Worst Computer Hacking Movies

BEST:Wargames (1983): The top of the list! What can you say about this movie other than marvel at it's greatness. What's that you say? You're not convinced it's the best... well then your probably under 40. For those of us that were around during that time, the accuracy of the equipment and methods used were 100% spot on. I'll forgive a little poetic license with the voicebox (even though they did exist at a more primitive level), but if you had to read what was on the screen the movie would get tiresome real fast. It added to the creepiness of the emotionally void WOPR when the voice says, "To win the game." The voice, BTW, was provided by the director who recorded the lines by speaking them in reverse, then played back in the opposite reverse forward direction...??? You know what I mean. It completely represented the aura of the time. If you buy the DVD that has the director's comments, you'll find that they purposely used a hodgepodge of older computer equipment so it would accurately represent what a teenager would be able to afford or scrounge up during that time. Incredible accuracy, especially the part showing how to jack a pay telephone with a soda can pull tab. What's a pull tab? Go away kid, ya bother me!Tron (1982): Even though this film came out in the 80's, it feels like a late 70's film. I don't know why. Basically it's about a hacker that is transported into the digital universe inside a computer, and must survive combat as a cyber gladiator in order to stop the villainous Master Control. It wanes a little in places, but make no mistake this was a groundbreaking adventure at the time. The graphics, while dated now, were extremely cutting edge at the time and wowed movie audiences lucky enough to see it on the big screen.Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999): Not so much a hacking film as a corporate espionage film... involving computer companies. Fantastic tale from start to finish. My only gripe is that it does leave out some key information. For instance, the only reason Bill Gates got in to see the higher up's at IBM was that his mother served on the same board of directors for a charity that the IBM chairman served on. She got the wheels rolling on the meeting. It also makes Bill Gates out to be some rebellious drop out who risked everything to start his company. Truth is, Bill was a multi millionaire by the time he went to college thanks to a generous trust fund from his grandparents and parents, who were also very wealthy. So was Paul Allen, who knew Bill from their grade school days at one the most exclusive and expensive private schools in Seattle. They weren't hurting for anything... unlike Jobs and Wozniak. Still the historical bend of this movie makes it one of the best biopic films for computer nostalgia nerds.WORST:Sneakers (1992): Some of the hacking was OK, but the social commentary peppered throughout by Robert Redford made this film unwatchable. If you want to blame Republicans for everything, watch a Michael Moore movie. If you want to make a hacking movie, leave your left wing garbage out and just make a damn hacking film. Is that too much to ask there, Bobby? The story revolves around two college buddies who take different paths in life. One becomes an "ethical" hacker, and the other...well, he is not quite so noble, although rich. The underlying message is that capitalist greed is bad but being broke, running from the FBI, and working in a run down, abandoned warehouse is morally superior. Some great plot twists and comic scenes ruined by over the top political grandstanding make this a movie I would only watch if it were free... and beer was free. The Net (1995): Ugh. The only saving grace of this movie is Sandra Bullock. Technology at that time was emerging at a great pace. This thing called 'Internet' was finally taking off and the filmmakers and writers took a lot of poetic justice to portray what computers might be able to do in the 2 months between shooting the movie and releasing it. It had it's moments but the whininess of Bullock and the whole portrayal of the security software hack made it almost unwatchable. A good MST3K candidate.Swordfish (2001): This movie's tagline should tell you just how unrealistic the hacking is: "Log on. Hack in. Go anywhere. Steal everything." Yeah, it's that easy. If you watch the movie, you'll realize that's exactly what the filmmakers believe. John Travolta is a villain who's grand scheme is to steal billions from the U.S. government through yes, you guessed it... hacking. The entire premise of the plot is that in the vast, computerized world of modern finance, $9.5 billion could slip through the cracks so that a clever hacker could, with hacking, transfer it to his own account unnoticed. Heck, I could use a new car... I'm gonna hack a few grand right now using my Hollywood generated CGI screens with 3d hacking tools where the mouse moves even though your hands are busy typing! It might have fooled the unwashed masses, but we know better. Great Movies About Computers

Plenty of great movies about computers have come out since these smart machines began playing such a huge role in humans' lives. Filmmakers have created fictional, factual and documentary-style movies about artificial intelligence, gaming, hacking, online communications, programming, viruses, web sites and other subjects relating to computers. Even films about war and supernatural themes have focused on computers. The following list includes some of the great movies about computers with a brief description of what they are about:AI: As the name implies, this is the story of a future world where Artificial Intelligence is possible, and a childlike android has been programmed to love.Hackers: A 1990s film starring a young Angelina Jolie, depicting a young group of hip hackers and all the trouble they get into during a corporate extortion conspiracy. The Terminator Series: About a cyborg (half man, half computer) who comes back in time to kill Sarah Conner. The Matrix Series: The story of a future world where computers have taken over and are using humans for power, keeping our minds tapped into a virtual world to distract us from the grim reality that our bodies are all part of an elaborate feeding system.Office Space: The group of software programmers and IT guys in this cult classic devise a plan to use a computer virus to get one over on the company they work for. Short Circuit: The story of a walking, talking robot (named Johnny 5) with a heart; he can be your friend!Star Trek (First Contact, Generations, Insurrection, Nemesis): All of these Star Trek and Star Trek Next Generation films include themes of artificial intelligence and computer technologies that were not possible at the time of their making.Tron: This early 1980s movie was one of the first to use computer graphics; the complex story includes themes of hacking, software programming, gaming and more. You've Got Mail: This modern love story is all about meeting and getting to know your romantic match online. These aren't the only movies about computers that have made an impact on our box offices and our society, but these are definitely some of the greatest. How to Download Free PSP Games and Movies - Three Methods But Which Is Best?

Sony's PSP or Playstation portable is a fantastic piece of technology-as well as being a top flight games machine it can view all kinds of media and also be used for web applications etc. In short it's a great piece of hardware-however the one thing that puts many people off is the price of the games. Wouldn't that be different if you knew how to download free PSP games and movies? It's long been known that the internet is a place where you can download free games and movies for many systems, but few people know that with a PSP you have a few different options on how and where to do it-the best thing is that they are all 100% legal! There are hundreds, if not thousand of different places where you can download free PSP games and movies, but they mostly fall into the three following categories:1- A totally free of charge service-There are sites that let you download games and stuff totally free of charge, but I personally wouldn't recommend them. Firstly, I always question the legality of stuff like this, and secondly, their games are always out of date and often download in an unworkable format, and thirdly in most cases you are going to get hit by a barrage of ads/popups etc, not to mention any viruses/spyware they may introduce to your computer. If these guys are willing to break the law and give away free games, who says they are not going to hack your computer? I stay away from this stuff.2- A "free" membership site that once you are signed up to you can then download as many games etc as you want from. Technically it's free because the membership is free, but then the minute you try and download something they'll ask you for a fee. Not too cool really. I also stay away from these because A, I don't like surprise fees, and B, again I'm unsure how legal this can be, although they do claim to be legal.3- These types of sites are the ones I can heartily recommend. I found a few reliable ones and I haven't looked back. I honestly haven't paid for a PSP game or movie in over a year, and I have some great titles! Sites like these charge a small one off fee, and then you have access to hundreds and thousands of different games and movies, all at high download speeds with no extra cost. This really is the best way to download free PSP games and movies because the one off fee is usually about the same cost of a new game, so basically for the cost of your next full price game you could be playing every PSP game ever released-if you have that much time on your hands that is! The actual downloads themselves can be tricky, but if you stick with reputable websites they will often give you the necessary software as part of the package. So there you have it, those are your options if you are looking to download free PSP games and movies. Personally I would recommend option 3, as some of these companies are excellent and you won't believe the sheer choice of different games and movies available to you.
