Check the power supply of the Verizon broadband modem. Make sure that the power cord is properly inserted into the modem and the electrical outlet is supplying electricity.


Turn the modem off and on. Push the modem power switch to the "Off" position, wait approximately 15 seconds, then turn it back on. If the device does not have an on/off switch, unplug the power adapter from the electrical outlet, wait approximately 15 seconds and plug it back in. Most Internet connection problems are fixed by turning the device on and off.


Check the Ethernet connection cables between the computer and the modem. Remove the Ethernet cables from the Ethernet ports of both the computer and the modem, then reinsert them. If the Ethernet cables are not securely inserted into the ports, a connection cannot be established.


Call the Verizon wireless broadband support center. A representative will test the connection to find out if the problem is with the modem itself or if it is originating from Verizon. The representative will walk you through any testing steps until the problem is fixed.
