Connect a memory card reader to a USB port on your computer system. If a memory card reader is already present on your computer system, there is no reason to connect this hardware.
Insert the memory card into the memory card slot, and then close out the AutoPlay window that loads.
Click "Start" and then "Computer," and then double-click the removable device icon to load a window with all the files currently stored on the memory card.
Right-click one of the files, and then choose "Compress" from the pull-down menu. This loads the zip application. Follow the onscreen prompts to compress the file down. Repeat the process with all the files stored on the card. Once complete, the card is going to have significantly more storage space than it originally had.
