ResQtec is a manufacturer of rescue equipment for the firefighting and law-enforcement industries and the military. The company began in 1972, and one of its headquarters is in St. Louis, Missouri. Hydraulic tools use hydraulic fluids to move parts of the machine; these fluids are managed by control valves. ResQtec's hydraulic rescue equipment allows rescuers to access difficult areas and cut through materials.Space CutterThe Q1 Confined Space Cutter is attached to a hose, and it has a swivel head that can move up to 180 degrees. The combination of the two allows you to get into tight spots and then cut through material. The controls are in the back so that either you or a colleague can operate them, and there is an automatic locking device to keep debris out of the hose.Cutter G-seriesThis is a series of hand-held tools used for cutting through various materials. Each tool has a rear handle with a rubber grip so that you can better hold on the tool, as well as a circular handle near the front of the tool. The circular handle helps you to better control the device, and it helps combat user fatigue since it reduces vibrations. These tools can cut round bars, and metal and other car material for rescue operations.Spreader X SeriesIf you need to get into an area that only has a small opening, then a spreader tool can expand the opening so that you can either remove the obstructing object or walk or crawl through the opening. Spreaders are especially useful on vehicle doors that were crushed, either allowing the victim to get through the door, or allowing the rescuers to get to the victim. These tools are designed to operate up to 90 degree angle. If, however, you expand them more than 63 degrees, they will start eating into the object that you are trying to open. The jaws of these spreaders come to points, to better access smaller holes.RamsThe Rams V-Series are similar to spreaders, except that you are able to rotate them 360 degrees so that you can align them with either end of the structure that you are trying to spread. You can use these tools to open doorways or the interior of cars that have been completely crushed. These tools have a standard handle with a grip and a circular handle near the front, and a square handle near the base, to help keep the device steady.
