Close any graphic files currently open and access the PaintShop Pro software. Click the "File" link at the top of the screen.

Scroll down and click the "Preferences" option in the "File" menu. Select "File Format Associations" in the dropdown menu that appears on the screen.

Locate the specific type of file you want to prevent from being associated with PaintShop Pro in the list of file types, such as "JPEG," GIF" or "BMP." Remove the check from the check box next to the name of the file type to stop the file association.

Click the "Remove All" button at the top of the window if you want to remove all graphics file type associations from PaintShop Pro. Select "OK" to save your changes. Close the program and restart your computer to finalize the changes.
