Open "Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator." Its link can be found in the start menu, from the "Program Files" folder of the "Computer" utility, or from its desktop shortcut, if you have one.
Select "Load Existing Keyboard" from the "File" menu and choose the "US" option (or pick your own language or dialect) to bring up a graphic corresponding to your keyboard.
Press a "Function" key, either on your keyboard or on the graphic. Click the field labeled
Expand the "Project" menu and select "Build DLL and Setup Package." Click "Yes" at the prompt and select the icon representing your computer from the folder that opens automatically.
Right-click the keyboard icon in your task tray and select your custom keyboard to activate it. Restart your computer to let it recognize your new configuration.
