Use DSL Reports provider search tool. DSL Report is one of the older ISP rating and reporting websites on the Internet. They operate by performing connection speed tests for consumers, collecting ISP details and then providing a summary of the best-performing broadband providers in a specific region. The search tool allows you to enter a ZIP code to get a list of DSL providers in your area, and includes their relative performance ranking.
Search for DSL providers through the local online or print telephone directory. The Yellow Pages and similar directories will list DSL providers under the "Internet Service Provider" heading. The telephone directory may list smaller DSL providers located in a specific geographic region.
Check with your local telephone provider. Since the telephone company normally offers DSL directly, chances are that they can provide useful information, even if they do not service your area. AT&T and Verizon both offer tools on their websites to determine DSL-availability for any street in areas they cover.
Ask your local town hall. Your town may classify Internet service as a utility, and maintain a list of area providers together with what type of Internet service provided. The town's website may also have this information.
