How to Change a Registration Name

Open the Windows 7/Windows Vista Registry Editor. To do so, click "Start," type "regedit" (without quotes) and press "Enter."

Expand the registry folders labeled "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE," "SOFTWARE," "Microsoft," "Windows NT," and "CurrentVersion" by double-clicking on them.

Double-click the registry key labeled "Registered Owner" on the right-side of the Registry Editor window.

Enter the new registration name into the "Value Data" field and click "OK." Close the Registry Editor by clicking the "Close" button on the top of the window.
