NEW DELHI: Like is the case every year, this year too Microsoft is holding its 'Build' 2018 conference. The Redmond-based firm has announced the dates of the conference. Interestingly, the conference will be overlapping another developer conference from its potential rival, Google.
Microsoft will be holding Build 2018 developer's conference from May 7 to May 9. Google, on the other hand, will be holding its IO 2018 conference from May 8 to May 10. Satya Nadella-led firm will be holding the conference in Seattle at the Washington State Convention Centre like last year. Before 2017, the company used to hold the event in San Francisco.
The registration for the event starts from February 15 and the full conference pass will fetch you $2,495.
At Microsoft Build, the company usually reveals the new developer-based changes that are coming on the platform. The firm generally talks about the next version of Windows OS. This time we may hear something about Windows 10 Redstone 5. It will probably start rolling out Windows 10 Redstone 4 by the time the conference's keynote date arrives.
Microsoft is also planning to hold a couple of events more in the coming months. It's SharePoint Conference NA will be held from May 21 to May 23 in Las Vegas. From July 15 to July 19, Microsoft Ignite will be taking place in Orlando from September 24 to September 28.
As for Google, the conference will be held where it did the last time - Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, CA. At the event, the search giant usually gives a formal introduction of the next version of the Android OS, which this year is likely to be Android P. The version is then rolled out in September and October after the launch of Google's new smartphones.
