New Delhi: Intensifying the war on telecom tariff started by Reliance Jio, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has introduced a new prepaid plan offering unlimited calls and 1GB data per day for 1 year.

Under the BSNL plan called 'Maximum' prepaid plan, users in India will get unlimited data access for 365 days and unlimited voice calls (Local and STD) for 181 days at Rs 999.

However, the new plan will not be available in North-East India including Assam and Jammu and Kashmir circles.

BSNL has tweeted:

Data usage under Maximum prepaid plan

On the data front, users can enjoy unlimited free data capped at 1GB per day. After the expiry of this cap, users can still get internet data at 40kbps speeds.

Voice call usage under Maximum prepaid plan

All local, STD and roaming calls are free under the plan. But Delhi and Mumbai circles will not get it. Voice calls in these two circles will be priced at 60 paise per minute. For all other circles, voice calls will remain unlimited. However the unlimited voice calls will be valid only from the day of recharge to 181 days. From the 182nd day, voice calls will be charged at 60 paise per minute for both on-net and off-net calls.

SMS usage under Maximum prepaid plan

Similarly, users will be able to avail 100 free SMS messages per day. However, after the expiry of 181 days, users will be charged 25 paise per local SMS and 35 paise per national SMS.
