Xiaomi, the company that has been giving a tough fight to Samsung in the Indian smartphone market, has been surprisingly silent in the first month of the new year.
Even the company representatives have been excessively tight-lipped about revealing the company's plans to launch the handsets this year. However, one of them has broken the silence and revealed that Xiaomi is launching something next month.
The Chinese company last launched Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in its home country and are expected to hit Indian shores next month. According to the rumour mill, the company is planning to rebrand the Redmi 5 Plus in India as the Redmi Note 5. This would be Xiaomi's first handset in India to sport a bezel-less display in the budget segment.
To remind the readers, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus features a 5.99-inch full HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It sports a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing snapper. The device is powered by 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and comes in two storage variants -- 3GB RAM +32GB as well as 4GB RAM + 64GB. Backed by a 4000mAh battery, the Redmi 5 Plus comes in four colour variants - Gold, Rose Gold, Light Blue and Black.
In the current year, Xiaomi has launched a 13.3-inch version of the Mi Notebook Air. The new model comes in two variants with one running Core i5 processor and the other powered by Core i7 processor. The Intel 8th-gen Core i7 variant is supported by 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB SSD storage. It also features NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU and 2GB GDDR5 dedicated RAM. The Core i5 variant, except for the processor, shares the same set of specifications.
The laptop has a 13.3-inch full HD display with 170-degree wide-viewing angle and 80.1% screen is to body ratio. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has a narrow bezel of 5.59mm.
