NEW DELHI: Ever since Apple introduced FaceID feature in its tenth-anniversary iPhone, iPhone X, other companies appears to be scrambling to join the bandwagon. The latest company to introduce a kind of similar FaceUnlock feature is Huawei.
The Chinese manufacturer has rolled out a software update hat will enable Face unlock feature through intelligent face recognition in Honor View 10. The company claims that the update will reach all the Honor View 10 smartphones by January 24.
To enable face recognition, users need to 'locking-in' their face via Face recognition feature in phone's settings. Users can scan their face by simply looking at the camera. Once the smartphone authenticates the user's face, Honor View 10 detects the positioning between the phone and the user and adjusts the direction accordingly. For example, if the user is lying down on bed, the screen will rotate automatically so that he/she can comfortably read messages on the smartphone.
For those unaware, the company launched the Honor View 10 smartphone earlier this month in India. The device is exclusively available on Amazon India website and is priced at Rs 29,999. The smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo topped with EMUI 8.0, UI layer of the company and is powered by octa-core Kirin 970 processor.
The smartphone comes with a bezel-less display. It sports a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with 1080x2160 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Honor View 10 smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. Users can add more storage by inserting a microSD card of up to 128GB. The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup. It consists of a 16MP RGB sensor and a 20MP monochrome sensor. The company claims that the camera incorporates artificial intelligence engine which offers Real-Time Scene. The front of the smartphone houses a 13MP shooter for selifes.
It packs a 3750mAh battery with fast charging support and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type C and NFC as connectivity options.
