Fitbit launches Ionic fitness tracker, other products in India [ad_1]



Wearables major Fitbit has launched its first fitness tracker of the year 2018 in India. Called Fitbit Ionic, the fitness tracker is priced at Rs 22,990 and will hit the retail stores starting February 2018 across the country. The device will be available at retail stores like Reliance Digital, Croma and Helios. It will be available on e-commerce websites as well

The Fitbit Ionic has a uni-body watchcase made using nano-molding technology. The company claims that it to be made of more durable materials that go through extensive testing than its other products.

In a first, the device comes with SpO2 sensor that is used to track diseases like Sleep Apnea by testing blood oxygen levels. It also features Fitbit Coach that offers on-device step-by-step instructions for seven minutes workout, 10 minutes abs and treasure chest. It is also capable of suggesting dynamic workouts based on feedback users provide via their wrist.


Courtesy its Run Detect feature, the Fitbit Ionic automatically tracks run with GPS tracking showing real-time pace and distance. It automatically pauses when users take a break and resumes again. According to Fitbit, the integrated antenna inside Ionic provide a stronger connection to GPS and GLONASS satellites, delivering industry-leading GPS performance.



The Fitbit Ionic has enhanced PurePulse heart rate tracking that is claimed to be more accurate during exercises and better at measuring calorie burn with real-time heart rate zones.



It also has additional features like storing and playing music (courtesy the 2.5 GB of storage) and will soon also be equipped to make payments using Fitbit Pay.


The fitness tracker is claimed to last multiple days on a single charge and 10 hours of continuous usage with GPS or playing music.



Besides the Ionic fitness band, the company also launched the company's first wireless headphones called the Fitbit Flyer. It is sweatproof design and has a customizable fit. It is compatible with Fitbit Coach smartphone app that lets users control advanced sound settings.Priced at Rs 9,990, the Flyer will also be available starting Feb 2018, both online and offline.



Lastly, Fitb it also launched a smart scale called the Fitbit Aria 2 Wi-Fi Smart Scale. It can be setup via smartphone's Bluetooth connection and lets users track their weight, body fat percentage, lean mass and BMI. The Aria 2 can store up to eight different users' profiles includes personalized icons and greetings. This device is priced at Rs 9,990 and will be available at the same time as the Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Flyer.
