NEW DELHI: Apple's most powerful and feature rich smartphone of the year, the iPhone X finally went up on sale in India at 6PM IST. There were long queues seen in front of major handset stores such as iWorld and iNvent and more. The queues were seen in several other Apple resellers in Delhi and other cities as well.
While some of the customers already booked the iPhone X online from the website, some others were present in order to see it by themselves before taking a decision to buy it.
Apple started taking pre-orders for the iPhone X last month in India. The smartphone comes in two variants based on 64GB and 256GB storage versions. The 64GB version is priced at Rs 89,000 while the 256GB model costs Rs 1,02,000. The latter is also the first iPhone in India to cross the Rs 1 lakh mark.
One of the highlights of the iPhone X is that it comes with Super Retina edge-to-edge 5.8-inch display with 2436 x 1125 pixels resolution. This is the first ever iPhone to come with an OLED display with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support.
Another highlighted feature is that it sports facial recognition-powered FaceID. Apple claims that FaceID is powered by TrueDepth camera system on the front.
Apple claims that FaceID is easy as well as very safe to use. According to the company, there's a one in a million chance of someone being able to 'hack' your phone. FaceID is said to be powered by 'neural engine' powered by the company's A11 Bionic processor.
iPhone X's both the rear cameras feature 12MP sensors and have optical image stabilisation (OIS) support. While one has an aperture of f/1.8, the other has f/2.4. It offers 4K video recording, new quad-LED True Tone Flash with Slow Sync. At the front, there's a 7MP TrueDepth camera. Apple is said to have developed it specially for FaceID.
Apple iPhone X is the tenth anniversary edition of iPhone. This makes the smartphone surely special, at least for most Apple/iPhone fans.
