NEW DELHI: Some Google Pixel users seem to be facing issues with their smartphones. These users have taken the issue on the Google Product forum saying that they are not able to receive any text messages on their smartphones running Android 8.0 Oreo. The issue was first posted by a Verizon user late last month.

The user named Gary Gregg posted that his Pixel XL running Android O on Verizon was not able to receive any text messages via Google Message or Verizon Message+. However, he is able to send them to others. Gregg said that he updated the device and the apps and uninstalled/installed them again but it was of no use.

Similar issue has been reported by few other Pixel smartphone users on the forum post. "Same issue that I am having. From what I've found in various forums, a hard reset/factory reset does not appear to work consistently either (issue comes back within a week)," said another user.

However, Google is aware of the issue and is already working on a fix. This confirmation came from the community manager on the forum. "Thanks for all of the reports. The team is aware of this issue and working towards a fix. Some of you have mentioned that rebooting or factory resetting the device resolved the issue. Definitely try to reboot, and if you do factory reset, make sure all of your data/info is backed up," the community manager posted.

This issue crops up a few days after the issue wherein the new-launched Google Home Mini were found to be recording users' voice without their consent. t has been mentioned that Google Home Mini has three touch sensitive areas on it. While two of them are on either side, one is right at the centre where the notification lights are. The one at the centre was apparently not calibrated properly and triggered the speaker to record commands. However, Google quickly rolled out an update for the speaker to fix it.
