NEW DELHI: If you are a technology enthusiast, you must be well-aware about GeekBench or must have heard of it somewhere. It is a gadget benchmarking website that shows a device's single-core or multi-core performance. The website is owned by Primate Labs, founded by John Poole. In a recent interview with Tom's Hardware, Poole praised Apple's A11 Bionic processor and said Android handset performance is 'stagnant'.
The Apple A11 Bionic chip powers the all three iPhone handsets launched recently - iPhone X, iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus.
"The thing that I don't fully understand is why performance has seemed to stagnate on the Android side," said Poole to Tom's Hardware website. "Where you don't see these big leaps forward. I don't understand what's happening there."

6 iPhone X features also found in iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
The wait of Apple fans is over. The Cupertino-based giant launched its brand-new iPhones earlier this week. The new additions to the iPhone line-up include iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the tenth anniversary edition of iPhone dubbed iPhone X. While all three iPhones offer significant upgrades over last year, iPhone X surely offers the biggest ones. The smartphone has several new features to Apple phones including an altogether new design. The price difference between the iPhone 8 range and iPhone X too is considerable. While the price of iPhone 8 starts at Rs 64,000, the starting price of iPhone X is Rs 89,000. However, there are also some features in iPhone X that are also found in iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Here are 6 such features ....
Wireless charging
Yes, all three new iPhones -- iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X -- come with wireless charging. With the year 2017 lineup, Apple has finally added wireless charging to iPhones. Apple's latest iPhones use Qi standard, the same that Samsung uses in its Galaxy range of smartphones.
Storage capacity
Just like iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X too comes in two storage variants -- 64GB and 256GB. Apple has increased the base storage of all its iPhone models this year to 64GB from 32GB. In 2016, the company had expanded the base storage to 32GB from 16GB.
A11 Bionic processor
All three new iPhones, including the iPhone X, run on Apple's latest 10nm A11 Bionic chipset with six-core CPU design. Apple claims that A11 processor is 25% faster than A10 that power its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones.
Same water and dust resistance
Apple's all three iPhones come with IP67 rating. This means that iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus as well as iPhone X have the same splash, water and dust resistance. In fact, it is same in the company's previous-generation iPhones as well, which are iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Rear cameras almost same
Here, both iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X largely share the same rear camera specifications. These include dual-camera set up with 12MP wide-angle and telephoto cameras; wide-angle F/1.8 aperture and telephoto F/2.4 aperture; wide color capture for photos and Live Photos; Quad-LED True Tone flash with Slow Sync, Portrait mode and Portrait Lighting. However, there's one difference which is that iPhone X boasts of dual-optical image stabilization unlike iPhone 8 Plus. Also, iPhone 8's camera is bit 'inferior' vis-a vis the other two.
All three sport new glass and aluminium design
The three new Apple iPhones (iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X) sport the same glass back design made with what the company claims is the most durable glass ever in a smartphone. The glass finish is made using a seven-layer color process to offer as the company claims a "precise hue and opacity."
It is worth mentioning that the Apple iPhone with A11 Bionic scored 10,170 in multi-core section in Geekbench 4 tests. On the Android side of things, the fastest handset to be tested on Geekbench 4 is the Galaxy Note 8, which received 6,564 in multi-core tests. This is almost 40% less than what the weakest iPhone in the newest lineup scored, said the website.
For those unaware, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor, which is Qualcomm's flagship processor of 2017. It also powers the likes of OnePlus 5, Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, LG V30, HTC U11 and more.
Adding to what Poole mentioned above, a recent Geekbench listing showed the iPhone X scoring 10069 in multi-core tests. This too is more than the Galaxy Note 8 and the OnePlus 5. The iPhone X runs 3GB RAM under the hood whereas the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and the OnePlus 5 come with 6GB and 4GB RAM capacities.
The iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus went on sale in India on Friday (September 29).
