NEW DELHI: It looks like Google has a few more devices to showcase alongside its rumoured Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones later this year. Android Police reports that the search giant could launch a new hybrid laptop and a couple of smart speakers as well.

It has been mentioned that the company could unveil a new Pixel-branded Chromebook, which will be the successor of the model that came back in 2015 along with the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X. The search giant is also said to launch two mini versions of the Google Home smart speaker.

The report says that the Chromebook Pixel could have been the outcome of the Project Bison that was rumoured last year. Details about the device are scarce at the moment. Last year's report said Project Bison (rumoured laptop) to sport some heavy specs such as 12.3-inch screen, 32GB or 128GB storage, 8GB or 16GB RAM and an optional stylus. The device was also rumoured to be less than 10mm thick. As for the pricing, the search giant was said to sell 'Bison' at $799.

There are not many details available about the mini version of the Google Home, however, the device is being tipped to go against the Amazon Echo Dot, which costs $129.

On a related note, the forthcoming Google Pixel XL 2 was spotted running Android 8.0.1 on FCC Federal Communications Commission) website. The listing also suggested the Pixel successor to share a similar tech like what we saw with the HTC U11 earlier this year. The technology is being tipped as 'Active Edge' and will let users trigger certain functions based on the inputs gathered by the touch sensitive side bezels.

Furthermore, the certification process shows some of the screenshots from the upcoming handset's Settings page, suggesting it (or at least one of the variants) to sport 64GB of inbuilt storage. It is worth adding here that this is one storage tier that is missing from the Pixel and the Pixel XL. Both come in 32GB and 128GB inbuilt storage variants.
