Home-grown messaging app, Hike has launched a new feature dubbed 'Bro Buddy Bae', where users will be able to tag their friends according to what they feel about them and vice-versa. Bros signify friends like family, Buddies are friends who're always there and Bae is someone you love before anyone else. This new feature is just to see who feels what about you, and whether it'll match with your friends or not. All you have to do is:
>Open the hike app
>Go to 'Me' icon at the bottom
>Go to 'Services'
>Tap on 'Bro Buddy Bae'
>Tap on 'Take me there'
Once you've followed the steps, you'll see your friends appear on the screen one by one and all you have to do is tag them. If the tag you chose for a friend matches what he/she has chosen for you, you can send designed envelopes (Blue Packets) with money to your matches. To start things off, Hike is giving away Blue Packets with surprise money amounts. To make things more interesting, you can also use the in-app live filters. The new feature is due to last till the 13th of August.
The company had also recently launched Hike 5.0, bundled with new features, mobile-wallet being the most important one. The other features included; new colourful app themes, night mode, magic selfie, Timeline, 128 bit security encryption and the app seize reduced to 25mb from 40mb.
The Hike wallet will now enable users to send and receive money from their friends and family. The three major aspects of the wallet are: instant money transfer from Bank-to-bank through UPI or from wallet to wallet. Blue Packets will enable users to surprise their friends or family members with money put in designed envelopes with personal messages and filters on them. And lastly Recharge, which will allow users to recharge mobile phones both pre-paid and post-paid from the app itself.
