Google's upcoming smartphones Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 have created quite a buzz. Smartphone case maker Olixar has revealed the design of the Pixel 2 by launching the cases of the smartphones. According to the leak, Pixel 2 will not feature the 3.5mm headphone jack and will have a single rear camera, just as its predecessor. Also, the case has the gap for a fingerprint sensor at the back confirming that the smartphone will continue to have the feature at the back.
Over the last few days, a lot of information about the two smartphones were revealed on the XDA Developers website, which also stated that the upcoming Pixel smartphones will not have the 3.5mm jack.
The website cites a source having hands-on experience with the smartphone(s), talking about the specifications and design rumours of the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2. The report says that the handset will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and have 4GB of RAM, along with 128GB of internal storage. Its back panel will be a mix of metal and glass, like what we've seen with the original Pixel XL smartphone.
According to the report, Pixel 2, codenamed 'Walleye,' will retain the 4.97-inch Full-HD display from the original Pixel. The bigger Pixel XL 2, codenamed 'Taimen,' will be the more premium of the two smartphones and have an LG-made 5.99-inch OLED QuadHD (1440x2560 pixels) display. While the screen resolution remains the same as the Pixel XL, the XL 2's screen size will be 0.5-inch more.
The rumoured Pixel XL 2 with OLED panel could have a more saturated display for better colour vibrancy. As reported by The Investors website, Google recently offered to invest $880 million in LG's display-making division - LG Display. The report further added that Google wants to secure LG OLED panels for its 2017 Pixel smartphones.
