Well, if you’re into grilled cheese sandwiches, then you might want to check out what Jonathan Kaplan – the man behind the company who created the now defunct Flip Video camcorder, has in store for you. Kaplan’s latest brainchild is known as The Melt, opening in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood to add to the restaurant list there.
What’s so special about this restaurant? For starters, he begun to research grilled cheese more than a decade ago to see whether it might end up as the main food attraction for a national chain, and he came away impressed with the surveys he made. Guess the timing was such that it is only now where he is able to execute such an audacious idea, solving the problem of getting consistent sandwiches without a professional chef behind the counter.
