The iPad is a mobile PC; it is thought of as revolutionary since it is not a laptop or even a PDA. Most importantly, because of its tablet format, it's unique in its own right. It's slightly bigger than a netbook by an inch plus it hasn't got a keyboard.
The basic input method for this gadget is a multi-touch screen; an external keyboard can be attached for easier typing, because with the inbuilt onscreen keyboard, typing is tiresome and not suitable for creating large documents. Together with its multi-touch screen, the iPad is additionally programmed to be multi-oriented, and the user can tilt the frame from portrait to landscape in accordance with his/her selection. Multi-touch means that the user can "tap" and "drag" on the display by using his/her fingers, even two items at once.
The iPad excels at allowing the user to consume information through Web browsing, media, and game playing. Additionally, you can use it to create documents and similar content on a lighter level. Thousands of apps allow the gadget to perform at the highest-rate speed.
Spreadsheets, documents and slide-show presentations can be done through iWork, which is Apple's response to Ms Office. There are also plenty of entertainment apps to choose from.
Safari is the basic default browser, designed and produced by Apple engineers. As of late, Opera Mini is now offered to iPad users as an alternative Internet browser.
Media consumption has become the best offerings on the iPad. The sharp screen resolution makes images, videos and e-books pop. The impressive speaker system provides a great output for music and audio and makes the iPad a pleasure to play music on for personal consumption.
3G and Wifi provices internet connectivity. In fact, the product is so fast that it overrides the speed of the hotspot offered in a specific location. The user must insert a 3G SIM card from a service provider in order to connect to a 3G network. Once the 3G network service application is completed, the user can then switch from Wi-Fi to 3G connection anytime. Be careful though because the charges for 3G still tend to be high and big bills can be run up without realizing it.
On the iPad display, all applications are organized through Apple icons. You can move the often used apps onto the Favorites screen which can easily be accessed.
It may sound like a pretty interactive device, which is what all cool gadgets are about. Techie experts used to advise that shoppers should wait a bit longer for the iPad to mature to see what it can do whatever our standard PCs and media devices cannot. Personally, I have both and I love both. You can't actually work with the iPad without the PC to back it up but there are so many great things about the iPad that I probably would not want to be without it.
