You have probably read those lists or seen users suggest the top 5 android apps for a rooted user and the top of the list always contains Root Explorer. This is one of the most valuable tools you can download and I’ve been using it for as long as I can remember. It is $3.99 in the Android market and always has been. Today the Amazon App Store has it for $0.99 cents and this is an amazing deal and worth noting for all of our readers.
Even if you are not a root user it still has some awesome features for moving and managing all your important files. Copy and paste and things of that sort are also included. What makes Root Explorer special is that rooted users can access all of the hidden folders inside Android, including that illusive “data” folder. Here are a few more features as listed in the market.
Features include SQLite database viewer, Text Editor, create and extract zip or tar/gzip files, extract rar archives, multi-select, execute scripts, search, remount, permissions, bookmarks, send files (via email, bluetooth etc), image thumbnails, APK binary XML viewer, change file owner and group.
I use it to extract files or open downloaded zips all the time. I copy and paste files around and root explorer is also the app many users have that they use to edit the build.prop file inside Android. Root Explorer has tons of downloads in the Android Market but remains one of the all time most pirated Android applications to date. We don’t condone pirating applications and highly recommend and suggest you support the awesome developers.
This is a great time to show your appreciation and buy the app if you haven’t, and if you’ve been wondering why everyone always always recommends Root Explorer, now it is only $1 so you might as well see for yourself.
