Open your Avid project and open the timeline window. On the left side of the timeline, select the video and audio tracks to be included in the export. Mark in and out points at the beginning and ending of your video. Your video project should now be highlighted.

Navigate to the bin where the sequence is stored. Select the sequence and then right-click on it to bring up a list of options. Scroll down near the bottom of the list, highlight "Send to" and then "Encoding." Select "Sorenson Squeeze."

When the export dialogue opens, check the first box that says "Auto Launch" and select Sorenson Squeeze from the drop-down menu directly to the right. Select the "Auto Load Exported Files" box. This tells Sorenson Squeeze to automatically import your exported video.

Check the "Export Setting 1" box and select "Sorenson Squeeze" from the drop-down list. Click on the "Options" button directly to the right. Another dialogue box will option up with export settings. Choose "Quicktime Reference" from the list and make sure that the "Use Marks" and "Use Enabled Tracks" boxes are checked. This tells Avid to use the timeline settings from Step 1.

Click on "Save" to return back to the previous dialogue, and click "Save" again to begin the export process. Avid will render the selected sequence and export the QuickTime reference. After the export is complete, Sorenson Squeeze will now open and automatically import the QuickTime reference.

Your project will be listed in the job queue. Select a compression format from the list of options in the left panel, double-click it to adjust the desired settings and drag it over to your job to apply it. Your project is now ready for compression.
