The malware known as Antivirus Pro 2010 is a serious threat to personal computer security. It gains entry to a computer without the user's knowledge when a link is clicked, during installation of a freeware game or through downloading of a video, among many other avenues.
Antivirus Pro 2010 steals the browsing history and sends it to remote servers. It may install unwanted software, resulting in a slowdown of overall system performance. It triggers irritating pop-up alerts, falsely warning that the system is infected by a virus. Antivirus Pro 2010 continues to produce fake alerts until action is taken to remove it. The rogue spyware has at least three aliases. It is also known as FakeAlert-XPSecCenter, TrojanDownloader:Win32/FakeRean and Trojan-Downloader.Win32.FakeRean. It targets Windows-based operating systems and is capable of inflicting medium-level damage. The program redirects the Internet browser to at least 16 malicious websites, including av-pro-2010.com, utka3medrdosubor.com and afedodevascevo com. It may create a file named C:\Program Files\Antivirus Pro 2010\AntivirusPro_2010.exe, or folders named C:\WINDOWS\system32\wisdstr.exe and C:\WINDOWS\system32\braviax.exe.
