HP Dx2000 Specifications
The dx2000 by Hewlett-Packard (HP) was designed as a business computer. It was intended to be inexpensive and provide businesses with a low-cost and high-quality computing option. The microtower case was made to adapt to any environment. It could sit on or under a desk without drawing too much attention. HP has discontinued sales of the dx2000.Processing SpecificationsThe dx2000 offered both Intel Pentium 4 and Intel Celeron processors. The Intel 2.80 GHZ models both came with 1 megabyte (MB) L2 advanced transfer cache. The 2.80A had a 533 megahertz (MHZ) system bus while the 2.80E utilized a 800 MHz system bus. Both Celeron processors utilized a 400 MHz system bus with 256 kb L2 advanced transfer cache. The only difference is that one processor was 2.60 GHz while the other was 2.80 GHz.Memory ConfigurationThere were two options for single channel memory configurations. Both offered 128 MB DDR SDRAM, but one had 333 MHz, while the other provided 400 MHz. The dual channel offered six possible configurations. There were two 256 MB DDR SDRAM options. One offered 400 MHz while the other offered 333 MHz. One of the two 512 MB DDR RAM options offered 333 MHz while the other offered 400 Mhz. Both models of the 1GB DDR SDRAM option offered 333-MHZ.Physical SpecificationsThe minitower that housed this system stood 14 inches tall, 7.1 inches wide and 15.4 inches deep. The system weighed approximately 10.5 kilograms.ExpansionThe dx2000 came with three expansion bays, one internal and two external. This included two 5.25-inch and one 3.5-inch bays. This machine also provided three full-height expansion slots.Hard Drive SpecificationsTHe dx2000 provided three hard drive options. Two of them offered 40 GB hard drives, with a transfer rate of 100 MB. One had a rotational speed of 5,400 revolutions per minute (RPM), while the other rotated at 7,200 rpm. The 80 GB hard drive also had a transfer rate of 100 MB and a rotational speed of 7,200 rpm.Optical DrivesThe dx2000 provided four options for optical CD or DVD-Rom drives. The first was a 48X drive that attained a 1200 kpbs transfer rate. The 48X/32X48X achieved 4,800 KB per second for the CD-RW Write function, while all other modes attained 7,200 KB per second. The 16X/40X DVD ROM attained 6,000 KB per second in the CD-Rom mode and 21,600 KB per second in the DVD mode. The 48x/32x/48x/16x drive attained 1,500 KB per second in CD-RW write mode, 7,200 KB per second in CD-R write, CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW read modes, and 21,623 KB per second in DVD ROM read mode.
