Click on the "Start" button. Type "cmd" into the Search box and click on the "cmd" icon.
Ensure that the server is up. Type "telnet" followed by the email server's name or IP address and port number (for example, telnet mail.me.com 25). Press the "Enter" key on your keyboard.
Send out a test message to determine if there is a send/receive problem with the email server. Type "EHLO test.com" to see if your email server will allow you to connect to it. Press "Enter."
Type "MAIL FROM:" followed by your email address and press "Enter." You should receive a reply of "250 OK." Type "RCPT TO:" followed by the recipient's email address. You can check this account to see if your message was delivered.
