Transfer all the files on your current FTP server to the new server. If you have dedicated storage, you maybe be able to move the hard drives to the new server.
Install your FTP software on the new server.
Configure the new server with the same users, permissions and file access as the old one. Depending on the FTP server package you are using, you may be able to import your configuration from the old server. Consult your software's documentation for details.
Switch any remaining server settings. If you are replacing your old server completely, configure your new server to have the same IP address and port settings. This will make the switch invisible to users other than a brief period of downtime. If you manually assign IPs, be sure to change the old server or take it off your network to prevent an addressing conflict.
