Make sure all of your music and videos, as well as other important files on your iTouch are backed up to your computer.
Connect your iTouch USB cord to your computer. Wait for your computer to detect your iTouch.
Go to iClarified.com (iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750) to select and download the appropriate ISPW firmware that you have on your iTouch.
Download the jailbreaking program called "RedsnOw." After the file is completely downloaded, extract the folder of the operating system you chose to a familiar location on your computer.

For Mac: blog.alltechrelated.com/files/redsn0w-mac_0.7.2.zip
Open the "redsnow.exe" file and install it. A message will appear asking you to select the ISPW file you downloaded earlier from iClarified.com. Click "Browse" and select the file.
Wait until a message appears that says " ISPW successfully identified"; then select "Next." After the second load screen appears, select "Cydia" in the list of check boxes.
Make sure your iTouch is turned off and connected, and select "Next" once again. This will start the jailbreak. Once that it is complete, you have completed jailbreaking your 2nd Generation iTouch.
