Click the "Start" button located on the PC desktop of the Windows 7 computer, then type "cmd" in the Search box. Right-click on the command line icon that appears in the upper-left pane. Select "Run as Administrator." The Command Prompt window will appear.
Type "telnet 1.2.3.4" on the command line, substituting the "1.2.3.4" with the IP address of a Cisco 1751 router, and then press the "Enter" key. Type the telnet password for the Cisco 1751 router when prompted and then press the "Enter" key. Type "enable" on the command line and press the "Enter" key. Enter the Privilege Exec password for the Cisco router when prompted and press "Enter."
Type "copy tftp flash" on the command line and press "Enter." Type the Windows 7 computer IP address on the command prompt when the TFTP server IP address is requested and then press the "Enter" key. Type the IOS file when prompted and press the "Enter" key. Type the IOS filename when prompted for the destination filename and press the "Enter" key.
Enter "Y" when "Erase Flash: Before Copying? [Confirm]" displays and press "Enter." The new IOS file copying progress will display and provide notification when completed.
Type "config term" at the command prompt and press the "Enter" key. Enter "no boot system" at the command prompt and press "Enter." Type "boot system flash:ios_filename," substituting the "ios_filename" with the IOS filename of the IOS image that was transferred by TFTP to the Cisco 1751 router and press the "Enter" key. Enter "exit" at the command prompt and press the "Enter" key. Type "write memory" and press the "Enter" key. Type "reload" on the command line and press "Enter." The Cisco 1751 router IOS is complete.
