It’s not HP who will be profiting in this little situation right here, but they can count on developers of apps making a pretty penny in the last week and a half to be reconsidering their move away from webOS in the wake of HP’s ditching of the hardware. That photo later was proven to be the 5-inch Galaxy S media player. As you can see on the photo above the device is clearly listed as the Samsung GT-I9220. The smartphone will pack a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED HD screen. What Thompson has done is to take the dimensions as given in the FCC listing of the Epic Touch, aka the WiMAX version of the Galaxy S II being announced tomorrow, and adjusted the images of the original Galaxy S II and the new USA version accordingly. What he’s found is that, what do you know, the display on the USA release may well be the larger 4.5-inch display we’ve been hearing about in a LTE edition of the device.</div> <div style="color: #444444; font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 24px;"> <span style="color: #444444; font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; line-height: 1.5;"></span></div> <div style="color: #444444; font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 24px;"> Now we’re not thinking that this release will be LTE-enabled, but a 4.5-inch display certainly isn’t out of the picture. On the other hand, the icons appear to be larger on the now-larger of the two devices. Does this mean that the resolution will be the same? Does it mean that the FCC report was a farce? IFA stands for Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (International radio exhibition Berlin, aka ‘Berlin Radio Show’) and started in 1924 when straight up radios were what you used to listen to the Green Hornet. Now it’s one of the world’s largest international consumer electronics and home appliances shows. IFA takes place September 2nd-7th and unofficially starts off with the Samsung Unpacked event the night of the 1st.</div> <div style="color: #444444; font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 24px;"> From Samsung we’ve got a whole slew of possibilities lined up, starting with Samsung’s new naming scheme revealing several new devices. That’s low on the scale of awesome. Next there’s the slightly more exciting Samsung Galaxy Q, a big ol’ phone/tablet hybrid whispered about twice now, once with a folding display. The new game engine claims to be the world’s first 3D game conversion engine for smartphones. The conversion engine is OpenGL-based 2D to 3D conversion. This beast of a smartphone will be one of a few awesome choices this “Holiday” season headed for AT&T. We first saw the HTC Holiday leak a few weeks ago with a cracked screen and some pretty revealing details but today we have even more good stuff to show you. Some of the other awesome specs include that 4.5″ qHD display, a 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB Internal SD card, 8MP camera on the rear with dual LED flash with a front VGA shooter for video chat. Wifi and all that other usual goodness. We also saw this leaked roadmap of AT&T’s upcoming phones but oddly enough the very real HTC Holiday is not listed. The HTC Jetstream Tablet was also recently spotted in the wild with AT&T 4G LTE on board so it appears things are moving along quickly. I have a feeling HTC and AT&T have big plans for LTE.
